My 100th Post! :P

Assalamualaikum :)

It has been over a year and my posts has just only reached 100 :P The counter's reaaaaally slow right :P Happy 100th Post dear blog! *I sound like a lunatic; yea I'm talking to an object- a virtual one too*

Btw I'm trying to get myself geared up for my studies. I made a reminder to push myself to make it all happen. Ahaha I hope it works -____-. I often forget to finish up my pre-lab assignments. We didn't have much homework back in AUCMS T____T.

Please! I don't want to panic now! T____T

p/s: This is a pretty good link on how to study smart :)

When Two Worlds Collide

Assalamualaikum :)

Yesterday in my latest post, I mentioned about surah Ad-Dhuha and how I relate it to what I'm facing. I guess I can relate it with what I encountered today too.

I was on the bus together with three of my friends, Nell, Saiyi & Yana. We were on our way back to our houses at Victoria Lodge. I was actually out to the city to buy a printer (usually we'd only walk home but with that load, yes of course, walking wouldn't be convenient at all). While we were on our way home, the bus stopped at a bus stop. I saw three teenagers, two girls and one boy, around the age of 15 or 16. They were looking at my friends and I and obviously, they can see me coz I'm the one exactly at the window.

The bus took around a 5 minute stop. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the bus. I turned to where I heard the knock and I spotted the boy squatting down next to the bus looking at me. The bus is more or less like the Rapid Penang bus, it's rather shallow (is this term right?), so you can just see people walking pass the bus without looking down. I turned my head back to the front and ignored it. When the bus was about to leave the bus stop, I turned around again and looked at the three teenagers. The boy suddenly sprang up from his squatting position and made a rude gesture; he stuck out his tongue, made that budak nakal tongue sound and stuck his thumbs to his ears and wiggled his fingers (Umm, can u imagine that?). I'm very very sure it's towards me coz obviously he was looking straight at me like just now & in front of me was just a toddler.

I was surprised by what the boy did. I immediately felt like, is it probably because of the hijab I have on my head? Were they being racist? I didn't know. Or maybe, they're just punks. Maybe they do it to everyone. It was rather embarrassing when I heard them laughing and all. Such rude kids. May they get guidance -____-"

This is not the only story about the challenges that we have to face in this whole different environment. I guess, it's best to think that some of them just don't understand other people well enough to treat people politely. Well, NOT EVERYONE here is like that, honestly speaking. In fact, I have met such wonderful, lovable & giggly people and they could make me keep my smile even after walking a mile long :') I really praise my lecturers, taxi drivers and people who deal with customer services here (people who work with customer service must be polite lah kan? haiyahhh -____-). Ouh yes, in supermarkets too :) They're all very nice :) About all this impoliteness matter, even in our country, things like this do happen, don't they? It all depends on individuals themselves. I never felt it before because I'm the people of my own country. Now I'm a foreigner. That makes such a big difference.

Ouh yeah, btw, I found this photo. The contents of this photo reminds me of when my lecturer here in UCC asked us Malaysians if our culture is like this or that as referred to the slideshow she had :) Hmm, nice to know huh? :) *just click on it to see a clearer view of it :)*

Ad-Dhuha :)

Assalamualaikum :)

I'm feeling rather angelic tonight, probably due to the fact that I just came back from an usrah just now O:) The usrah was all about understanding more about what the Quran beholds :) It has been one of my aims of going to usrahs like this actually. This seems so perfect for me :) My kakak usrah is very nice and I'm happy to be in her group. The best thing is, Nell's in my group too! :D

Just now we discussed about surah Ad-Dhuha. You should really check it out. Just by reading it, you can feel the tenderness in each of the verses. One of my group members already has that feeling of calmness whenever she reads it.

The surah was actually brought down after our prophet Rasulullah s.a.w. did not get any wahyu from Allah for 6 months (sorry for the mixture of languages & do correct me if the facts are wrong). He was really sad and he even thought that Allah is mad at him or does not approve of him anymore. The musyriks went even more skeptical and they assumed that Rasulullah was a liar and all. This of course makes Rasullah even sadder.

If you happen to read the tafsir of the surah, you can somehow understand and co-relate the story to the meaning of the surah. This is the direct definition of the surah:

Dengan nama Allah, Yang Maha Pemurah, lagi Maha Mengasihani.
[1] Demi waktu Duha.
[6] Bukankah Dia mendapati engkau yatim piatu, lalu Dia memberikan perlindungan?

From what I learnt from my usrah, this surah is divided into three sections. If I'm not mistaken, section 1 is [1-4], section 2 [5]-[8] & section 3 [9]-[11].

Section 1 is basically about Allah wanting Rasulullah s.a.w. (and us) to know that He has created night time & dhuha time for us to find peace and beribadat to him. Also, it is to remind Rasulullah (and us) that we should not be sad thinking about the bad things that the world offers. Dunia is our persinggahan & akhirat is our final destination. I personally love verse [4] because I often feel sad thinking about some treatments I receive from some others. So if we're in situations where we feel like we're being left out or being treated cruel, if can bersabar and not get angry and upset with it, insyaAllah we'll feel much calmer & Allah will grant us with pahala.

Section 2 is a reminder of Allah to Rasulullah s.a.w. that he's always being loved :) We can relate this to ourselves too :) To think of what we have, our lives are actually at ease. Allah gives us a family and even if some don't have any, Allah does provide protection. Or else, how would we be able to live till today? :) About verse [7], if we relate it to ourselves, isn't it true that Allah always sets a way for us to get out of difficult situations & get ilham? :) And yes, obviously at verse [8], I'm sure you know that Rasulullah s.a.w. came from a poor family, he was a shepard. Then he met Khadijah, a very wealthy woman. If we put our heart into this verse, we can realize that Allah is the giver of rezeki. Thus, to who else must we ask for but Him? :)

The last section of the verse is a reminder to all of us :) Realize that we have to treat people equally & we must also always be thankful of what we have.

I'm so glad to know about this surah. It means so much more to me than before :) Actually yesterday I was really upset with my lab partner because I think due to culture differences, it was very hard for her to communicate with me. But thinking about what this surah tells us, I must be patient and find the best solution possible :) InsyaAllah :)

My Early Days in Ireland :)

Obviously I have missed manyyyyyyy things that I could have mentioned about my first few days in Ireland. Ruginya tak tulis! I wanna write now but I have loads of homework to do, but still, I'll write a lil something here coz I feel so gian heheheh :P

I have four subjects in my first module here in my course. There's Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry & Clinical Examination. Each and one of them are interconnected to each other, which makes it easier for learning and understanding. Out of all four, Anatomy had always and still currently is my favourite subject :) My least favourite subject is Biochemistry coz those Chemistry stuff freaks me out -____-"

Speaking briefly about the environment, it's reaaaaaaaally cold here and it's actually still summer! (well, autumn is in two days time though). If the temperature now is already around 10 degrees celcius, I don't dare imagine how cold winter would be like :O At times there's this like colddd breeze gushing towards you, and that's when you'd get your teeth chattering and your hands finding their way into somewhere warm. Anddd, instead of having air-conditioner in your room, you have a heater. It doesn't make any white noises, so it's very hard for me to sleep at night without leaving the window open a few centimetres to let some noises from outside to come in. It really reminds me of a movie played by Sarah Jesicca Parker, in which she was given a CD which contains white noises of New York to help her fall asleep :P

It seems like I have been writing a lot (in which I shouldn't have in this time being!) Haha :P InsyaAllah I will be writing about all of these, possibly more about the house & town that I'm living in now & of course, my University. Andddd, before my memory fades aways, I might as well turn back and also write about my journey from Malaysia all the way here! I would really want to read my blog later on when I'm in the period of my senescence :)

This is the main quadrangle of University College Cork *seniors do expect that almost all the students will have a picture of themselves in front of the quadrangle. LOL! (And yea, the photo is dark right :( Sobsss!!)

In Another 24 Hours

Am I prepared? I really hope so. By this time, I should have everything I would want to bring along in their respective baggage. I'm nervous; thinking about the load limit for the cargo luggage bag, the documents that I have to bring and present there, the spices that I really wish to bring along and many many many more things.

I hope Allah can help me and all the others undergo this with ease. I'll miss home so badly! Mummy, Baba, Alin, Amanda & Shiro Cat, please take care of yourself. I love you guys so much! :(

Everything's Going Raya

It's almost two and I'm wide awake. I'm having a cough, a really terrible one. I'm seriously not looking forward to waking up temporarily mute and feeling sore inside my chest :/ My day was horrible thinking of it, especially in regards of the fact that I was extraordinarily grumpy today. Pity mummy & baba. Maybe this pain works as a mood inhibitor and a mouth-silencer :/ *sigh*

Always, when my mood runs downhill, one of the things I'd do is turn to my blog. The "Design" tab becomes my aim. I'd linger around every editing option, checking out what can be done to satisfy my needs (and mood).

And there it goes, my blog just got her baju raya. I feel better now. So editting my blog probably really IS my hobby, though I must remind myself it's almost effortless; with all that just-click options :P It's therapeutic for me and I bet at least Arif Aizudin thinks so, referring to my reaction when I badly wanted to finish up editting my blog. Hehe sorry :3

Okay, nightey night :) I deeply aplogize to anyone who just finished reading this crappy post. Teehee!
